Spiral Sagas is many things.
It started out as a big idea, as most things do. Some of the characters and story elements have floated around in my head and sketchbooks since childhood. When I graduated from art school in 2019, I was itching to bring my ideas to life. Over the next three years, I drew a prologue and three chapters of the story in webcomic format. I experimented a lot with different art media and found that to be a core aspect of the storytelling itself. I learned so much from just diving right in and illustrating as much as I could.
As I progressed into some heavier story elements, however, I got stuck pretty quickly. I realized that I hadn’t thought the story through to the end, and the characters and the world weren’t as fleshed out as I felt they should be. So I decided to take an indefinite hiatus from illustrating Spiral Sagas, and focus more on the writing for a while. This is where we are now. The story is being written, concept art is being done, and it’s very much still in the works.
Right now, Spiral Sagas is an ongoing draft, a living document. It’s a work in progress and it will be for a long time. It’s my life’s work, and I want nothing more than to tell the story in a way that does it justice. I’m now working towards releasing it in print, hopefully within the next few years.
